Acer pseudoplatanus 'Bruchem'
Evaluation 4
| Evaluation Date: | 21 Nov, 2012. |
| Evaluators: | Claudia Green. |
| Committee Summary: | There is only one specimen left in the carpark and it is in poor health. The others have been replaced with Pyrus calleryana 'Chanticleer' which are all doing very well.
The specimens in the park are in reasonable health but are showing signs of cavities forming beneath old branch damage. It also appears that there has been some root damage during recent weeding. |
| Management Inputs: | Weeded. |
| Maintenance Requirements: | Mulch to protect roots and improve moisture retention. |

Evaluation 3
| Evaluation Date: | 4 Apr, 2007. |
| Evaluators: | Ian Brown, Nick Archer. |
| Committee Summary: | As evidenced in the previous assessment, the car park trees have experienced ongoing problems with some dying. The specimens in the adjoining parkland are doing very well, again reinforcing the view that something is amiss in the car park beds. |
| Planting Date: | June, 2000. |

Evaluation 2
| Evaluation Date: | 2 Feb, 2004. |
| Evaluators: | Nick Archer, Mick Dalton, Tim Hart. |
| Committee Summary: | Significant dieback had taken place within this car park planting since the previous evaluation had taken place. The reason for this is unclear, however park staff suggested the site, rather than the cultivar, as previous plantings had all perished. Trees growing in parkland nearby, pictured below, are performing well. |
| Management Inputs: | Heavily mulched. All purpose fertiliser used. |
| Maintenance Requirements: | Heavy pruning may assist with establishment of remaining trees. |

Evaluation 1
| Evaluation Date: | 9 Sep, 2002. |
| Evaluators: | Nick Archer, Stewart Campbell, Paul Goodison, Meg Jones, Michael Smith, Mike Smith. |
| Committee Summary: | This row of trees was performing well in this hostile environment. Very little available moisture and reactive, heavy clay soil were noted by the committee when the evaluation took place. A major concern for committee members was the production of fertile seed. Hardiness and vigorous growth rate were also noted as positive attributes. |
| Planting Date: | June, 2000. |
| Management Inputs: | Heavily mulched. All purpose fertiliser used. |
| Maintenance Requirements: | None urgent. |
